Safety is a constant theme in our policies, procedures and management systems. We adhere strictly to safety standards for people and the environment. We are constantly investing in instruments and reporting, registration and checking procedures. We offer safety training courses, medical examinations and personal protective equipment and make our sites safe for our employees and for the environment.

Safety Talks

We also know that systems and procedures aren't enough. If you want to guarantee safety, employee behaviour is crucial. We encourage people to take responsibility for their own safety and for that of their colleagues. In safety talks they can speak to their colleagues about their behaviour and how it can be improved.

Safety Results

All of these efforts have made a difference. Between 2012 and 2016 our safety index improved steadily. Indaver is doing considerably better than the average for the waste sector. We have fewer accidents and they lead to fewer 'unfit for work' days. Since 2016, Indaver has used the same system in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Ireland for reporting safety incidents and follow-up actions to tackle them.
