Press Release October 20th, 2014: Indaver receives the Prize "Torre de Belém International"
"Torre de Belém - International" award is intended to recognize the merit of companies established in Belgium or in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg who have distinguished themselves in the field of international trade between Portugal and Belgium and/or the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, during the year 2014.
The prize was awarded by the Ambassador of Belgium Mr. Pierre Bernard, during the annual gala dinner of the Chamber of Commerce Luso-Belgian-Luxembourg.
Indaver is a Belgium-based, European company and has still strong roots in Belgium. Indaver has been expanding its business in Europe and is currently present in the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Portugal, the UK and Italy. The company owns and operates important infrastructure for waste treatment, including a waste transfer station in Abrantes.
Indaver has a clear strategy: operate specialized facilities and manage intelligent systems for waste treatment with focus on sustainable management of materials and energy. Indaver treats industrial waste, hazardous waste, municipal and commercial waste and biodegradable waste. Recovery of materials and energy in full compliance with the strictest environmental standards is key. In the European hazardous waste market, Indaver is the preferred supplier for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. In 2013 Indaver managed over 5 million tonnes of waste all over Europe. With 1665 employees Indaver achieved an operating revenue of 526 million euro.
